The Eolas Lecture is the keystone of ASIMS’ contributions to the International Congress on Medieval Studies. The lecture itself consists of a 45–60 minute address, followed by a 20 minute presentation from a second speaker and/or a response from other speakers.
The lecture is presented in article format in the subsequent volume of Eolas.
The lecture was previously known as the Robert T. Farrell Lecture, in honor of the former Professor of Archaeology at Cornell University, in honor of his commitment to multi-disciplinary research. It was renamed in 2023 to represent the key nature of the lecture as the cornerstone piece in each volume of Eolas.
